B.C.O.P.
- Brazilian Cultural Orientation Program
The
success of a foreigner (expatriot) who comes to work or live in Brazil
depends on various factors, but arguably the most important one is adapting
well to the new country. If the student and family are going to be happy
and feel comfortable, a fundamental knowledge of Brazilian culture and
everything offered by a large Brazilian city like Campinas becomes vital.
That's
why Marina Coudry created the Brazilian Cultural Orientation Program (BCOP).
Founded in 1997, BCOP is an orientation program specifically designed
for expatriots who will be living in Brazil. It's a natural outgrowth
of our thirty years of experience teaching language and culture to foreign
visitors.
What's
B.C.O.P.?
BCOP
deals with every aspect of the day-to-day life of a family who has just
arrived in Brazil, with an emphasis on the specific routines involved
in keeping a house or apartment. The program involves classes on Brazilian
life in Campinas, and the orientation includes managing a Brazilian maid,
as well as guided tours of local hospitals, stores, and clubs. BCOP helps
new expatriots settle in quickly, which leads to a more enjoyable and
productive experience in Brazil.
